Big Bend law enforcement agencies announce launch of ‘Children’s Innocence’ task force

(WCTV) - Law enforcement from across the Big Bend region stood shoulder to shoulder at Cascades Park on Thursday morning to announce a new task force aimed at combating child sex crimes. Called the Big Bend Protecting Children's Innocence Task Force, the group will work together to combat sex crimes across jurisdictional lines. Importantly, a donation from All Things Possible Ministries will allow each agency to hire additional staff, invest in expensive technologies, or just give officers a chance to decompress at a retreat in Colorado. It will allow the Tallahassee Police Department to have two full-time detectives on child sex crimes, joining the seven detectives in the special victims unit.
